11/30 – 3:40 p.m. New York time
This brings the site up to date after a problem at the site’s host, WordPress, left me unable to post or edit for two solid hours. This didn’t impact my trading, but the documentation of positions that I closed will take some time to complete, and may well slip into Friday, a day in which I anticipate entering no new positions.
Long story short: For options, KR and MIK produced profits and ADSK, DSGX and PSTG, losses.
11/30 – 3:33 p.m. New York time
I have entered a position on FIVE.
11/30 – 3:28 p.m. New York time
I have passed on BIG, leaving a shares trade in FIVE as the sole new position.
11/30 – 3:25 p.m. New York time
The editing and posting functions on the site’s host, WordPress, quit working nearly two hours ago, but they have returned. I posted to the Twitter and Facebook accounts in the interim, and I shall now play catch-up here.
11/30 – 1:30 p.m. New York time
I’ve decided not to trade AMBA. It’s options grid won’t allow me to do an even width for both calls and puts, and I’d prefer not to do any skewing.
11/30 – 10:35 a.m. New York time
On my agenda today, AMBA, an earnings play using options, and BIG and FIVE, earnings plays using shares.
I shall update the exits with results later today, as well as catch up with my record keeping for several other trades earlier in the week.
11/29 – 8:10 p.m. New York time
One prospect qualifies as an earnings play using options: AMBA. No shares fully qualify at this point.
I’m also looking at ULTA and VMW as earnings-related options positions but have not yet made up my mind as to whether to carry them forward for further analysis.
I’m also looking at five potential shares positions that presently have characteristics that detract from their attractiveness: BIG, FIVE, GCO, NTNX and ZUMZ.
I shall make final decisions tomorrow after plugging in new numbers after the opening bell.
