1/31 – 2:15 p.m. New York time

I entered two positions: UAA and TRP. I exited none.

1/31 – 1:20 p.m. New York time

UAA Analysis posted.

1/31 – 12:45 p.m. New York time

I have entered a shares position on TRP.

1/31 – 11:25 a.m. New York time

My practice is to lay out prospects the the night before, update the metrics the next morning for my entire pool of potential trades, and then choose the top three prospects or so as potential trades.

Of late the pool created by the updated metrics bears only a passing resemblance to the pool the night before, suggesting that my new analytical regime has grater velocity than did my earlier methods. Velocity is good. Perhaps the evening prospects list should simply be eliminated as ancient history, with nothing useful to say about the next day’s trading.

For example, today’s full list of potential share trades has three more symbols than did the list from the night before. The three priority trades are all the three that are new to the list: TRP, CTT and CUBE.

For options, UAA is my best prospect. It also didn’t appear on last night’s list.

I’ll give the evening prospects post some thought, but at this point I’m inclined to discard it from my schedule.

1/30 – 8:20 p.m. New York time

Prospective options trades: CTL, SPWR and WMB.

Prospective shares trades: AEE, CHGG, FMC, FUN, HII and SEDG

I shall update with new data after the opening bell on Wednesday.
