12/29 – 12:10 p.m. New York time

UNF continues to be non=trending, with an average directional index (ADX) of 20.5. None of the other symbols under watch have improved sufficiently to qualify as trades. I plan to enter no positions nor to exit any, giving no outcomes for the day.

12/28 – 8:30 p.m. New York time

I one one symbol that’s close to qualifying as an earnings play using shares. UNF qualifies in all but its trend, as measured by the average directional index (ADI0). It needs to be above 25 to qualify, and presently stands at 21.43. I shall monitor it on Friday and if it bumps over, then I shall proceed to analyze it further as a trade.

Three other symbols have multiple problems disqualifying them from shares trades coinciding with their earnings announcements. They are CMC, LNDC and RECN. The metrics that are disqualifying are volatile, and so could potentially change for Friday’s session. I’ll keep an eye on them.
